MULTI-CITY, New York - 12 Jul 2017

Ernest Stephen Chamberlin passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Greenfield Center and lived his entire life in the home he was born and raised in.

He spent two years in the US Army during the Korean Conflict serving with Occupational Forces in Germany. In February, 1954, after two years active duty with eighteen months overseas, Ernie was transferred to the Reserve and received an honorable discharge with the rank of Corporal in 1960. His employment at GE lasted 34 years before retiring.

A Greenfield Fireman for 41 years, Ernie worked his way up through the ranks to become Chief of the four company department from 1956 to 1967. After leaving his post as chief, he worked for several years as a Saratoga County Deputy Fire Coordinator.
