The families of US Navy CPO (Ret.) Stephanie B. Batchler, and Mr. Timothy T. Batchler, US Navy veteran have requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in their dual military honors funeral services. Timothy and Stephanie, husband and wife, tragically lost their lives in an automobile accident on January 22, 2017, leaving behind four children.

Stephanie, born September 11, 1972 in Cobleskill, was raised in Canajoharie and was a graduate of Canajoharie High School. She enlisted in the United States Navy in 1990 and retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 2011. She was continuing her education at Hudson Valley Community College pursuing a career as a registered nurse, and was currently working at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Schenectady.

Stephanie had served over 20 years in the United States Navy in the CTI, Cryptologic Technicians Interpretive field, specializing in the Mandarin Chinese language. For her dedicated service, she was awarded the Joint service Commendation Medal w/two Bronze Oak Leaves, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award w/ three Bronze Oak Leaves, the Good Conduct Medal w/one Siler Oak Leaf and 4 Bronze Oak Leaves, the National Defense Service Medal w/two Bronze Oak Leaves, the Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal and the Navy/Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon. She was Honorably Discharged in 2011 at the grade of Chief Petty Officer (E-7).

Timothy, born December 3, 1971 in Kingston, PA, graduated from Stroudsburg High School and enlisted in the United States Navy. Tim was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing at the family farm in Schoharie County. He and his wife, Stephanie were involved in the Schalmont school sports as well as Capital Region Soccer League. Tim was an energy consultant at Vivint Solar in Albany.

Timothy joined the United States Navy in July of 1990, and served as a CT-9134, Cryptologic Technician, Subsurface Augmentee Operator. For his faithful service, he was awarded the Joint Meritorius Unit Award, the Armed Forces Exeditionary Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Southwest Asia Service Medal w/Bronze Star. He was Honorably Discharged in August, 1994 at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4).

The Patriot Guard Riders will stand proudly, rendering dignity, honor and respect for the lives and military service of Stephanie and Timothy Batchler, proud United States Navy veterans and American Heroes.

Special Instructions:
PGR members to stage in the church parking lot and establish flag line for the arrival of family members. Following 10:00 AM services, members will provide motorized escort approximately 70 miles to the cemetery for joint inurnment services with full military honors. A majority of the travel will be conducted at highway speeds, so members are requested to ensure that any flags are fastened securely.
