ABOUT THE MISSION:

The family of Mr. Daniel J. Keegan, East Greenbush Police Officer has requested Patriot Guard Rider presence at his funeral services.

Narrative:
Daniel J. Keegan, 54, of North Greenbush, NY, died Wednesday April 5, 2017 at home. Daniel graduated from Catholic Central High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College. He first worked as a car salesman for Jack Byrne Ford & Mercury, in Mechanicville, NY and soon transitioned to a career of over 30 years in law enforcement. He began as a correctional officer and deputy sheriff with the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office, subsequently serving as a police officer in the North Greenbush, Police Department, and later in the East Greenbush Police Department. After an assignment as a task force officer with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Daniel returned to the East Greenbush Police Department as a detective, retiring in 2014.

Daniel enjoyed spending time with his loving family, and was an avid Harley rider, taking many motorcycling trips with friends around the country.

The Patriot Guard Riders are privileged to be asked to stand for and render dignity, honor and respect for the life, community dedication and law enforcement service of Mr. Daniel J. Keegan.
