Special Mission

Special Mission - St. Patrick's Day Parade

Miller Place, New York - 12 Mar 2017

We have been invited by the Rocky Point friends of St Patrick to participate in this years St. Patrick's Day Parade in Rocky Point.

This year's Grand Marshall is Joe Cognitore. Joe has done a lot for our Veteran community and this would be a great way to show support. We will be at the very beginning of the Parade right behind Joe and the Color Guards. I have also invited the member of ABATE to join us as well so hopefully we get a big turnout. See you there

Joseph A. Cognitore proudly served in Vietnam from April 1969 through March 1971, where he held the ranks of “Acting Platoon Sergeant” and “Acting Platoon Leader”. For his valor on the battlefield and for his service to country, he earned the Bronze Star and the Combat Infantry Badge, as well as the National Defense, Vietnam Service, Vietnam Campaign, and Air Medals. He has been a member of the VFW since 1973 and serves as Commander of VFW Post 6249
