As we are approaching the holiday season, it's an excellent time to remember our fallen and their ultimate sacrafice; another way to remember them is to sponsor a wreath.  Sponsoring a wreath through Wreaths Across America is easy.

 Thank you.

My Mother worked as a radiation nurse for the last years of her long nursing career. She recalls someone named Cap Capella (or something like that) coming in for treatment. I’m guessing he made it through okay. Someone said he was one of the Guards at the services and thought he may be interested to know this.

I want you to know how impressed, ecstatic, and in awe of your presence at both services. I couldn’t help but shake every hand and was floored when every one of them said “It is my honor”.  I was happy to see emotion from the guards as well as we spoke to each one of them. It was like they were saying goodbye to someone they had served along side. Despite the fact that it’s been almost 73 years since Frederick left the service I guess in a way they did serve together.

I am most thankful for the honor the Patriot Guard has bestowed upon my family and am looking forward to supporting your efforts and spreading your story. Even though it was only a couple days, I’m indeed honored to have known you guys.

Can you please forward the message below to the PGRs who stood for our Hero, Henry Skubik recently, at Massapequa Funeral Home (Jan. 20, 2018) and Calverton National Cemetery (Jan. 22 2018) on Long Island, NY.  I don't have the Ride Captain's contact information but his first name was Charlie.  Thank you in advance.

*****
One week ago today (Jan. 22, 2018), we laid our beloved Hero to rest at Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island.  It was a dreary, dark day both in spirit and weather-wise.  But that did not deter the PGR group from showing their support and standing for our Hero during his final farewell.  I just wanted to express my family's heartfelt gratitude for all PGR did to ensure our Hero's farewell was a fitting tribute to the caliber of person he was, one who made sacrifices for our country, overcame adversity, went on to become a productive member of society, and was a shining beacon of light which touched everyone who crossed his path.  We were truly humbled by the number of proud Riders who came out to support the cause and stood for him.  We never expected anything like the loving display of honor, patriotism and sincere gratitude for his service which was shown during this mission.  We wish to thank each and every person who came out with heartfelt gratitude that helped us through the most difficult day of our lives.  The fact that you all took precious time out of your busy lives to pay such respect to our loved one and support the Skubik family is to be commended.

We will never forget all that the  Patriot Guard Riders did to Honor Cpt. Henry Skubik. The special plaque we were presented with now hangs next to our Hero's POW and Purple Heart medals.  A very special shout out to Fran (last name unknown), Mary-Ann Sweeney Barcellona and Nicole Ruggeri De Palo for also supporting the family and standing at the Memorial Service we held on Jan.20.

Again, a simple "thank you" just doesn't seem enough, but it comes from the heart.  God Bless you all.

Respectfully,
Jacky Skubik on behalf of the Skubik family

P.S., our hero "rode" too....

My brother had contacted you and the patriot guard regarding the passing of my grandfather Frank Klepper. I wanted to say thank you so much for coming to his burial service. It was quite the honor to you and fellow patriot guard members there to hold up the American flags for him. My apologies for not writing this email sooner. But that truly meant a lot to have you there.

Sincerely

Kimberly Imperial

Good evening,

Let me begin by expressing the gratitude of my entire family and myself for the honor ride and welcome that my father CPL Alirio Orduña received upon arrival at Calverton National Cemetery on Monday November 6th.  Words can not describe how we felt by the escort from the funeral home all the way to Calverton, and then to find the members of the flag detail both at the entrance and then on the walkway to the service was inspiring, beautiful and heartwarming. Thank you so much and I want you to know that while I do not currently ride, I do have a “cage” equipped with warning strobes and have signed up to be a member of the Patriot Guard.

I am a retired LEO and look forward to helping to honor other Veterans and pay respect to their loved ones.

Thank you,

Osbert Orduña
